Day 1  - Arrive in Florence. Drop the bags off and set off to explore the beauty of Florence! Make today about just exploring. Florence is not a big city, everywhere is walkable. Head to the iconic Duomo and Baptistry. Walk all around and then walk inside if they are open. Don’t miss the Gates of Paradise and the North Doors at the Baptistry. Then walk to Ponte Vecchio. You’ll pass little leather markets and shops along the way (best place to buy a leather purse). Spend your evening dining at  Osteria del Proconsolo, our favorite restaurant in Florence. A night in Italy would not be complete without gelato. Head to Edoardo il Gelato Biologico for delicious organic gelato in made to order waffle cones.

Tip!!

If you have extra days in Florence and you have seen as much of Florence as you wanted to see, this is a perfect time to take a day trip to Pisa or Sienna. Pisa and Sienna are about 1-2 hour train rides from Florence and you can see these cities in just a day.
