Cinque Terre is made up of five villages.  Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. During our stay in Cinque Terre we chose to stay on Monterosso al Mare.

Day 1 -  You will arrive by train to Monterosso al Mare. Step out of the train station and be greeted by the most gorgeous view of cliffs, rocks, and crystal, clear turquoise water. Walk with your bags to your hotel and head out to enjoy the sound of the rushing waves and crisp sea air. Monterosso is broken into 2 sections -the Old Town and the New Town. There are also two beaches. The small beach is located in the Old Town and the longer beach is in the New Town. There is a tunnel that separates the two towns. Spend the rest of your afternoon walking around discovering the beautiful streets of Monterosso both old and new.

Day 2 – Spend your morning and afternoon soaking up the sun and crashing in the waves of the beach in the Old Town. For lunch grab a panini at the best café on the beach! After your day on the beach, spend the evening walking the streets of the Old Town and enjoying dinner watching the sun go down.

Day 3 – Your 3rd day should be spent discovering the beach in the New Town. Let the hours slip away as you enjoy the warm water and rocky beach. For lunch, tip toe to the nearest fish stall for the freshest and most delicious seafood! When evening rolls around, head to the New Town and enjoy dinner at our favorite restaurant, La Cantina di Miky. Have the kids enjoy a little fun before bed at the park near the end of the New town strip.

Day 4 -  Spend your last full day in Cinque Terre either hiking from one village to the next or taking the boat that stops at a few of the villages. Walk the beautiful cobblestone streets and stop for tastings at all of the different fresh fish shops (our favorite was Siamo Fritti in Riomaggiore). Browse the boutiques of local artists and sculptures or model the Italian printed scarves.
