2 Day Sample Itinerary
On the Way to Cork (from Kilkenny)
Day 1 - Start your day by driving to the town of Waterford. Stop here and spend time walking the beautiful streets. Visit the famous House of Waterford Crystal, where they make the incredible Waterford Crystal. Be sure to take the tour! Take time to walk around the Waterford Treasures Medieval Museum and take the tour to learn about all the relics. Make sure to stop at Reginald's Tower before you leave. Grab a bite to eat and then drive to Rock of Cashel. Allow yourself 1 1/2 to 2 hours to walk around this beautiful area. So much history and allurement. Finish your drive, arriving in Cork in the evening.
Cork
Day 2 - After breakfast, drive straight to Blarney Castle. We spent 3 hours here but would have loved more time. There is so much to see and the grounds are never ending! Be sure to make the climb up to the top and kiss the Blarney stone for the "gift of gab". Right outside of the entrance to the Blarney grounds, go to lunch at The Old Blarney Post Office. Its the perfect little lunch cafe. For the afternoon, there are a few different options. 1. You could head to the Jamison Distillery in Cork. 2. If you would like to see come beautiful natural views you could make the 1 hour drive to Ballycotton Cliff and walk the trail. or 3. You can head back to Cork and walk the beautiful bustling streets of Cork. For dinner be sure to take a seat at one of the Pubs for Irish food and live music!
