Prince Edward Island

3 Day Sample Itinerary

Day 1 - Spend your first day in PEI exploring the incredible beaches.   PEI has so many great beaches to choose from.  Brackley Beach, Basin Head Beach, and Greenwich beach are great beaches to soak up the sun, ride the waves, and build sand castles.  If you are looking for a beach with tons of activities, head to Cavendish Beach.  Cavendish has miniature golf, Ripley's Believe It or Not museum, an amusement park, and festivals throughout the summer.  Enjoy the day in the sun!

Day 2 - Dedicate this day to all things "Anne of Green Gables".  If you haven't read the book, be sure to read it before you visit PEI.  It will make the Island even more magical.  Start your day in  Cavendish at the very setting of Anne’s story Green Gables Heritage Place. Explore the preserved gabled house that inspired Lucy Maud Montgomery and stroll the grounds, including the Haunted Wood and Lovers Lane.  Then visit the site of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Cavendish home, where the author’s relatives still reside. Browse an impressive selection of books for sale and take a guided tour of the grounds.  Spend the later afternoon at Avonlea Village, a recreated rural community based on the village where Anne lived. Browse eclectic shops and indulge your senses at one of Avonlea’s delectable eateries. End the evening in Charlottetown with dinner and a performance at the Guild of Anne & Gilbert, The Musical, a celebration of Canada’s best-known love story.

Day 3 - On your last day in PEI.  Spend half of your day back at one of the beaches that you haven't had the chance to explore.  Then spend your late afternoon walking around Charlottetown.  Enjoy a delicious dinner and be sure to walk by the harbor and get some Cow's Ice Cream for Dessert.
